Tamara Jurkin ( pronounced as “Yurkin”)  is a Holistic Sleep Consultant and a Holistic Nutritionist as well as the Founder of Quiet Moments Wellness. She has been working with children, families, adults, and mental health in various roles for 20 years.

Tamara’s path has been a winding one but has brought her back to where she needs to be in this life. After she received her college diploma in early childhood education, she went on to complete her psychology undergrad university degree with the goal of becoming a clinical developmental psychologist. However, life had other plans for her upon her father’s passing, and she found herself on a completely different path.

Years later, when she discovered she was pregnant with her first son, Tamara worked in the corporate world and was pursuing her master’s degree in adult education and learning. When she made the decision to become a sleep consultant, she resigned from her corporate role and paused her master’s degree program. She openly admits that it was terrifying but the call to help families and children was just too loud.

Tamara shares that it has always been her life’s purpose to help children and parents, ever since she was a teenager – and having her own child reminded her of that. She took the leap into entrepreneurship and could not be happier with her decision. The birth of her second son motivated her even more to help families and she made the decision to share nutritional support as well as sleep services – thus Quiet Moments Wellness has been born.

Tamara loves to learn and her educational background further includes child development and psychology courses such as: The Happiest Baby on the Block, psychology of infancy, psychology of middle childhood and family dynamics as well as infant/ child mental health. To further complement her background, Tamara has completed the Infant Mental Health course through Sick Children's hospital which focuses on mental health from 0-6 years of age. Her research interests include: emotional wellness, parental mental health, attachment theory, childhood trauma, sleep, and holistic nutrition.

She has over 20 years of teaching experience, from preschooler to adults. She has taught and created curriculum for private colleges as well as online programs. She has served as the Canadian Regional Director of the Association of Professional Sleep Consultants for whom she has also created continuing education webinars for. Tamara has mentored and trained professionals worldwide and is highly skilled at communicating new concepts in a way that can be easily understood by the learner.
